The ViewIGStory blog is written by the team behind ViewIGStory, a free, no-login tool for viewing and downloading public Instagram stories anonymously. We spend our days working with Instagram's public data and the wider ecosystem of third-party viewers and downloaders — so the guides here come from hands-on use, not guesswork.

How we keep these guides accurate

The internet is full of Instagram "hacks" that are outdated, exaggerated, or outright scams. We hold every article to a few non-negotiable rules:

• We test the tools we write about. Reviews and comparisons reflect how a tool actually behaves — anonymity, download quality, ads, and reliability — not its marketing copy.
• We explain how Instagram really works. When we describe viewer lists, Close Friends, screenshots, or Notes, we stick to documented, current behavior and say so plainly when something is uncertain.
• We never recommend anything that asks for your password. A legitimate viewer only ever needs a public username. Any tool asking you to log in with your Instagram credentials is trying to steal them, and we call that out.
• We flag the scams. No third-party tool can view a private account — that's a server-side Instagram restriction. Any "private profile viewer" is lying, and we say so every time.
